DEMO Summer School 2023
The first edition of the “DEMO Summer School” was held between 17th - 21st July 2023 at University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. The aim was to revolutionise training methodologies and materials by engaging students in real-life scenarios. Through a unique blend of online learning and intensive design sprints, participants dived deep into disciplines such as Digital Platform Enterprise Design, Data Visualizations, Agile Organizations, and more.
For the first time, students were active problem solvers, collaboratively tackling real design challenges. From ideation to prototyping Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), they were equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital landscape. By bridging the gap between education and industry demands, DEMO Summer School wasn't just shaping the future of its students— it had provided a new standard for educational excellence.

DEMO Summer School 2024
The second DEMO Summer School 2024 was held between 15 – 19 July 2024 at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, in Bucharest, Romania.
This second edition aims to incorporate the feedback received from the first edition of the DEMO Summer School 2023 in order to optimize the training materials as well as the educational process wherever necessary. At the same time the event aims to enable students to apply the knowledge gained during the online part of the blended mobility (3 months) to co-operatively solve real design challenges using design sprints. The topics of the challenges will be: Digital Platform Enterprise Design, Data Visualizations, Product Service Systems, Digital Customer Management, Agile Organizations, Interoperability between Digital Platforms. The activity will employ an innovative blended mobility composed of a prolonged online phase and an intensive presence phase. During the presence phase, students will work in teams using design sprints and will ideate, design and create early prototypes (MVPs) of their solutions. The goal for students is to understand and apply novel working concepts, gain knowledge in new topics of the Digital Enterprise, increase their abilities to use software tools and methodologies in solving complex interdisciplinary problems. This will require them to further develop their critical and creative thinking as well as their transversal competencies and apply those using digital technologies. The activity will also provide a best practice case for universities in modernizing their curricula, narrowing the competence gap between education and skills requirements for the labor market, using innovative working methods as well as current educational topics and applications.
